Lasagna Cat

Lasagna Cat

I know what many of you are thinking. This blog is called Entertain Me Daily, and there is nothing even remotely entertaining about Garfield, until now. Lasagna Cat videos have been slowly taking the nation by storm. These YouTube artistic masterpieces usually consist of someone physically acting out a Garfield 3 panel sketch followed by a surreal music video. As one viewer recently put it “its one of those things, are we being fooled? Or is it transcendence?” (more…)

The “Splinternet” Changed The Game

The “Splinternet” Changed The Game

I’ll be the first to admit that when I browse the web I’m more likely using my mobile phone or my iPad. I finally got onto my actual laptop the other day and it took a second for me to realize why Facebook and Twitter looked so different. Then it dawned on me, “Oh, that’s right! These are the actual sites, not the m-dot.coms.” I’m so used to logging into my accounts while I’m out and on the go that I forgot that having a fully functioning site with customizable options was even a thing.

The “splinternet,” as they call it, is the way in which we access the world wide web. the term ‘splinter’ comes from the fact that there are several incarnations of each site: the full site, mobile site, and site app. Basically there are different ways in which to experience web content and therefore we react differently as a result of it.

Although it’s not a new concept per say, it is still a developing one. How many times have you gone to a site on your phone only to realize you can’t view it because it has flash content or that portions won’t load properly? People engage in the entertainment or news material and therefore it may be to your detriment if you haven’t fully formatted your content to work with different access points.

Ultimately, web 2.0 still has some kinks to work out. I guess we’ll see what 3.0 has to offer when it comes.

E-Cigarettes: Pros and Cons

E-Cigarettes: Pros and Cons

I was a devoted smoker for about 10 years. In fact my quitting had more to do with an undesired side effect from a prescribed medication than it did an urge to get healthy. This weekend I purchased an E-cigarette. Let’s discuss:

Pros:

-          An E-cigarette cost roughly 12 dollars, with refills costing 1 dollar and being equivalent to about 30 cigarettes.

-          They don’t make you or your apartment stink of smoke

-          No more cigarette burns on clothing, face and hands

-          You never need a lighter

-          You can smoke them almost anywhere

-          They are healthier than smoking (maybe? Jury is still out on that one)

Cons:

-          You look like a huge nerd smoking one

-          It is hard to find regular tobacco flavored refills (you will have no trouble finding peach-mango and chai tea flavor though)

-          You need to charge it (using your computers USP port or an outlet)

-          It is hard to adjust to a weightier smoke after years of being accustomed to lighter-weight, analog smokes

In short, E-cigarettes are pretty great. I am back up to a pack a day and I have never been happier. I am just waiting for scientist to ruin it all by telling me they are as unhealthy as regular cigarettes.

Stop Changing Shit on the Internet

Stop Changing Shit on the Internet

I’m not one who takes change lightly. Yes, change can be good but for the most part, too many changes at once is nerve wracking and I must fight the urge to crawl into a corner and weep. If major parts of my life are going to change, they need to happen one at a time. So imagine how upset I’ve been the past month when the ENTIRE Internet has decided to change.

Weather Control Laser is Finally Here

Weather Control Laser is Finally Here

In a Dr.Evil-esque technological development, scientists in Switzerland have designed a weather control laser. Perhaps weather control is a bit of an overstatement, but the laser can make it rain, literally.

Different rain professionals have been responding with a mix of terror, awe, and delight. Weatherwomen Michel Meelei said “This could be bad news in a tight economy for weather persons. What are we going to report? ‘Laser shot into sky again, making it 68 and sunny’”. Rain dancers, umbrella manufactures, and little girls jumping in puddles expressed similar concerns.

Some, however, look at the weather laser and see opportunity. Entrepreneur Jim Green, CEO of Two of Every Animal, said “It’s clear sometime soon this laser will fall into terrorist hands, leading to some kind of biblical style flooding.  People are going to need arks and I will be the one to provide them”

There are, however, some flaws in the laser’s design. For one, it only work on humid air, so Arizonans, we won’t be shooting lasers at you… for now.

The laser is still years from completion but already the Swiss team envisions thousands of practical uses for the laser. Dr Ferzmig said “With this technology we can finally end droughts, stop tsunamis, and create enough rain to submerge France, freeing Switzerland from land lock.”

They Sagging On A Different Level!

Found this video courtesy of the amazing recently revamped hip-hop culture blog Ego Trip. Ego Trip is truly a must read daily for anyone who’s a fan of good things.

Sagz Jeans is a company manufacturing jeans that hold themselves up by attaching to your boxers somewhere midway down your ass. It is a great innovation for fans of this style, which while not entirely in vogue of late, has never really gone away.

The commercial for these jeans is just about the funniest thing I’ve seen on the web this week and has to be seen by all.

Has Google+ Failed Already?

This past week the new social networking site Google+ has seen quite a dip in traffic growth. Unfortunately we don’t know why that is. It could be that the hype is simply over or that it’s about to join the dead stomping grounds of MySpace.

Don’t Want to Be Gay? There’s No Longer an App for That

Yes, I said “no longer” meaning there once was an app. After only being available in the Apple iTunes store for just a few weeks, Apple decided to pull the plug on an app designed to “cure the gays.”
