The Muppets are poised for a huge comeback in 2011. Kermit, Miss Piggy and the rest of the gang(though hopefully not Kermit’s annoying nephew Robin) will be making a big new movie, written and starring Forgetting Sara Marshal’s Jason Siegel. But perhaps the Muppets’ strangest presence on the cultural landscape is curently dangling on the chest of a rapper.

That rapper is arguably the hottest musical act in the country at the moment, current Rolling Stone Magazine cover star Waka Flocka Flame. Obviously his name is a not-sly reference to the classic Fozzie Bear catch phrase “Waka Waka Waka,” but what interested me was his chain. Waka Flocka Flame a rapper who’s most popular songs all have mostly unprintable lyrics struts around with a golden Fozzie Bear chain around his neck. Name sake’s a side in the keep it real world of rap repping a puppet this hard is a strange move.

When discussing the chain with a friend of mine he pointed out another popular rapper’s strange taste in chains: ” Souljah Boy’s chain is a remote control car,” he said. “But he stopped wearing it cause he lost the battery door.”

Strange world we live in.

Today is the day that his youthful moxy turns in to pure unadulterated sexual heat. Or something… I don’t know.  Either way women of the world, today is your day, let your imaginations run wild. Perhaps your fantasies involve a Slip N’ Slide or a suggestive game of Hungry Hungry Hippos. I mean that’s totally weird but go with it! It’s not gross anymore. Well, it’s still a little gross.
