The much hated and despised by everyone Westboro Baptist Church have plans to picket the private funeral of Whitney Houston, because they apparently ran out of homosexuals, Catholics, Jews, and African Americans to hate. If you ever want to get yourself worked up or just have a laugh at extreme racism, check out their website or Wikipedia page.

It’s not 100% clear why they’re picketing her funeral, especially since Houston was a devout Christian who began her career singing at the New Hope Baptist Church in New Jersey, where the funeral will actually be held. The implication from Westboro leader Margie J. Phelps is that it is because of Houston’s large gay fanbase. Phelps had tweeted, “F*ck call her gay icon. WBC is picketing that funeral,” and “No R.I.P. Whitney Houston. You don’t live your life serving self & sin, stealing God’s glory & get peace.” Oh what a lovely bunch of people. Good luck to them though since the funeral is invite-only.

Other famous funerals they picketed were Matthew Shepard, Michael Jackson, and Steve Jobs. It’s best not to stress too much over this radical group, who spreads nothing but hatred for everyone different from themselves. Houston may have gone on a serious downward spiral in her later years, but I wish her peace in her death.

As a space junkie, it deeply saddens me to report that NASA is cutting its mission to Mars, as well as the exploration of other planets due to budget cuts. NASA’s budget is already tight and they went just a tad overboard on the new space telescope –the James Webb Space Telescope which will be 100x more powerful than the Hubble Telescope.  Two scientists revealed two joint missions with Europe to explore Mars in 2016 and 2018 were nixed.

Women everywhere have been in turmoil and through much debate since last night when it was revealed that the breast cancer charity Susan G. Komen is ending its partnership with Planned Parenthood. This will result in a cutoff of hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants, most of which go towards breast exams.

Let me start this post by saying Blue Ivy is a horrific name that deserves teasing regardless of the status of her parents. I really believe fame goes to celebrities’ heads and they lose a tiny bit of sanity. Now onto the satanic part. I’m not sure how this rumor got started, and I don’t care, but the Internet has been  abuzz with talks that the child’s name backwards is Latin for Satan.

Despite having no degree in physics nor truly understanding exactly how everything works, I still find it extraordinarily fascinating, even if I do struggle to sometimes understand it. But thankfully other articles have dumbed it down for us normal folks to understand. But onto the excitement! Some genius scientists at Cornell University have created a time cloak, a way to mask a portion of time.

I’m not one who takes change lightly. Yes, change can be good but for the most part, too many changes at once is nerve wracking and I must fight the urge to crawl into a corner and weep. If major parts of my life are going to change, they need to happen one at a time. So imagine how upset I’ve been the past month when the ENTIRE Internet has decided to change.

All of Season 4 was quite spectacular and entertaining. It was rare to find a dull moment, aside from that one filler episode where literally nothing happened. And I was thrilled to watch the season go out with a bang, as well as some good banging between Jessica and Jason.

Labor Day sprang upon us in 1882. The first celebration of the holiday was actually in New York City –probably after realizing the little children in factories needed at least one day off a year. No one is quite sure who had the original idea but here we are all this time later celebrating by not working, grilling meat, and getting drunk.
