Human Centipede 2 Banned in UK For Posing A Risk to Viewers
7 Jun
So, first of all, let’s all take a moment to realize the ridiculousness of a Human Centipede 2 even being released. In what seems to be a straight to DVD release, Human Centipede 2 is set to come out this year, but not in the UK. The British Board of Film Classification rejected it completely, stating that it can pose a real risk of harm to viewers. Uh, what?
Since the BBFC has rejected it, it mean it’s completely illegal to distribute in the UK. They have said that the film’s “total degradation, humiliation, mutilation, torture and murder of its naked victim” is one of the many reasons it was rejected. Doesn’t that sound like every torture porn film to ever be released?
And sorry but, how does a low-budget, poorly acted horror movie pose a risk to anyone? It may pose a risk in making them never want to watch another horror movie again with the assumption they are all this bad. But come on. It’s not going to start brainwashing people into wanting to sew others together, nor is it going to give them any more trauma in their lives. People who see these kinds of movies (like moi) make the choice knowing exactly what they are getting into and knowing they can handle it.
Anyway, the teaser has been released. And It may just be the worst teaser trailer for a movie. Ever. On earth. Until the day the earth explodes. Check it:
There’s talk of whether the Human Centipede 2 will pass censors in the U.S. to be released, though if it is then it should be available sometime this summer. And I will watch it. Why? Because when the director claims a movie “really will be the sickest movie of all time”, I just have to see if it’s true. And usually? It’s not.
Oh, and hey BFCC, stop being pansies and watch some French horror films if you really want to see something disturbing. Sheesh.
