The Blaze
31 Aug
Great name, Glenn. It’s catchy, short, and it resonates with all of the pot smoking liberals out there who just want to get high. Maybe you’ll win some converts. Hot new news? Meh, kind of. Firey opinions? Mmm, if you consider rehashings of Beck’s ideas hot. No Beck says the Blaze is about “a burning truth.” Maybe it’s because the site is so new, but the stories that are up aren’t really about anything. But hey, at least Glenn Beck isn’t hiring people like Mike Wise.
Inspired by this weekend’s rally, this Huffington Post wannabe is a brand new Tea Party megasite. Yes, the layout is simple, easy to read, the commentary is no more conservative than the talkshow, and it seems that this is exactly what the conservative populace needed. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that this site has the potential to really gain some support. But maybe that’s because the craziest right wingers don’t know how to use the internet.
Of course, most of the articles and commentary are about Beck himself, but that kind of narcissism is expected. Maybe, one day, this site will be a popular conservative newsroom, where the WSJ will turn for more topics. Until then, I think I’m going to crawl under my desk and take a nap.
