God it’s good to be an American. You could have been born in Somalia, or Estonia, or even worse, Switzerland. Our country will forever be known as the country that embraced capitalism to the fullest, and gave personal liberty a home. That’s why to this day we still produce the best. And July 4th is when we give thanks for our history of freedom, for the Founding Fathers who had the cojones to rebel against those tax imposing lobsterbacks, and for cheeseburgers. So here are the best places to celebrate your 4th.
5. Philadelphia: This is where it went down. Independence Hall, anyone? Philly has tons of fireworks all around the city for the big day.
4. New York: The Macy’s 4th of July fireworks are pretty stunning, especially if you have an aerial view from an apartment or rooftop.
3. Mt. Rushmore: In Lead, SD, the nation’s oldest gold mine has some kickass fireworks. Plus you can feel that rush of patriotism looking at the hundred foot faces of our nation’s greatest leaders.
2. Epcot, Disney World: What’s more American than Disney World? Besides epitomizing the American Dream, this is also one of the happiest places on earth. Their nightly fireworks are dwarfed by the explosions they have for our country’s birthday.
1. Your Backyard: Nothing better than a BBQ, a cold one, and lighting your own fireworks. And because this is America, shoot some guns while you’re at it. You can’t do that in Europe.
