“Cuming in a Theater Near You!”

That’s right. “The Pee-Wee Herman Show” will be on Broadway for six weeks in the upcoming fall. Paul Reubens, the original Pee-Wee Herman (and real-life Rainbow Randolph), recently revived his cult-classic character in Los Angeles at Club Nokia. The positive reviews of these performances have gotten Pee-Wee some time on Broadway.

The shows storyline will circle around Pee-Wees hopes to fly like Pterri, a pterodactyl (obviously). The show is also scheduled to include old playhouse favorites, such as Cowboy Curtis and Jambi the Jeanie.

“I can hardly believe it,” Reubens was quoted as saying. “Honestly, I’ve been pinching myself.”

Probably not the best choice of words, as Reubens should in no way shape or form be providing his audience with thoughts of him touching himself.

“The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway” is scheduled to start preview performances on October 26th at the Stephen Sondheim Theater. Opening night officially is November 11th.
